Open World International School is a private bilingual French-English school, currently welcoming around 190 students from nursery to secondary level. Nestled in the scenic countryside of Picardy, near the Compiègne forest and just 50 km north of Paris, the school offers an excellent teaching and learning environment. Moreover, our students follow a bilingual curriculum, with approximately half of their classes taught in French and the other half in English.   SECONDARY SCIENCE TEACHER We are seeking a qualified and passionate Science Teacher to join our team. Ideally, the candidate will also be able to teach an additional subject, such as Global Citizenship or act as a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award leader. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to our after-school programme through science enrichment activities. We are looking for dynamic educators who value inquiry-based learning, and who can inspire students from diverse backgrounds with their enthusiasm and love of learning. Candidates must be native English speakers and located within easy commuting distance of Lacroix Saint Ouen (60610). Contract Type: Part-time or Full-time
  • Part-time: 12 hours/week teaching Physics, Biology, and Chemistry from Year 7 to Year 10
  • Full-time: Possibility to add other subjects such as Global Citizenship, English, Duke of Edinburgh, or PE
PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Fully qualified secondary school teacher (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent), with a minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Fluent English speaker, with solid knowledge of the British curriculum and qualification system
  • Experience teaching Science to IGCSE, and ideally A-Level
  • A strong team player who is actively involved in school life
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong classroom management and a passion for teaching
  • Comfortable teaching in a multicultural environment
  • Able to inspire and engage both ESL and native English-speaking students
