The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (Bronze level) is offered as an elective in Year 10. The DoE certificate is internationally recognised and serves as a gateway to many high schools, colleges, and universities.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is a personal development programme for young people aged 14 to 24, founded in 1956 by the Duke of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. The programme has now expanded to 144 countries.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DoE) has three levels of difficulty: Bronze (ages 14 and up), Silver (ages 15 and up), and Gold (ages 16 and up). With the help of adult “coaches,” participants must complete a set number of hours and achieve specific goals in four categories: physical activity, community service, practical skills, and an expedition.
Open World International School is accredited as an “Independent Award Center” by “The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation.”
