IGCSE & A-Levels
Internationally recognised qualifications.
At Open World International School (OWIS), we offer our students the opportunity to prepare for and take the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) exams, British academic qualifications recognised by universities and employers around the world.
Our school is also an authorissed Pearson Edexcel examination centre, allowing students who wish to do so to continue on to A-Levels, particularly through distance learning programs or other specialized institutions.
What is the IGCSE?
The IGCSE is an international qualification typically taken between the ages of 14 and 16. Recognised in more than 160 countries, it provides excellent preparation for higher education thanks to its high academic standards and its approach that fosters independence and critical thinking.
The IGCSE exams help students develop:

Students can take IGCSE exams in the following subjects:

Languages not offered as part of the regular curriculum may be taken as independent candidates. In such cases, the school assists with exam registration but does not necessarily provide instruction in the subject in question.
What are A-Levels?
A-Levels (Advanced Levels) are the standard pre-university qualification in the British education system.
Typically taken between the ages of 16 and 18, these courses allow students to specialise in three or four subjects related to their plans for higher education.
Universities particularly value A-Levels for the depth of knowledge they provide and the level of independence they foster in students.
Although OWIS does not currently offer a comprehensive A-Level preparation program, our school is an authorised testing center, which allows students continuing their studies through a distance learning provider or another institution to take their exams in an official setting.
