Open World International School is committed to offering its middle school students an enriching experience that extends beyond the classroom walls. This programme, called “Crest of Character", is designed as a personal development program. The CofC certificate, awarded at the end of middle school, attests to the students’ embodiment of the House values and, more broadly, qualities such as resilience, commitment, a sense of responsibility, self-confidence, leadership, and teamwork.
At OWIS, middle school is about more than just preparing for exams. The Crest of Character programme supports every middle school student throughout their four years: exploring nature, developing a personal skill, volunteering, and going on an expedition. It’s a progressive journey that prepares students for life as much as it does for their diplomas—and lays the groundwork for the Duke of Edinburgh Award for those who wish to go further.
