CHARACTER COUNTS! is a personal development programme which aims to impact our daily school community life in a positive way. Based on the ‘Six Pillars of Character’, CHARACTER COUNTS! encourages a child’s academic, social, personal, and emotional development. The six pillars are: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Each pillar is composed of numerous qualities and values to be developed such as leadership skills, honesty, co-operation, positive thinking, perseverance, empathy, etc. This programme is embedded in our school’s DNA and embodies values which promote academic success and wellbeing at school. We refer to and develop these values throughput the school year.
