TIMELINE

A school born of a conviction—
—and built with determination

Open World International School is a private, non-denominational elementary and secondary school. Founded in September 2012, the school currently has 180 students ranging from kindergarten to ninth grade.

The school offers an international curriculum designed to accommodate a diverse student body, including French-speaking, English-speaking, and international students.

2012Creation

A preschool class with 13 children has opened in Longueil-Sainte-Marie.

2013

30 children, opening of the first-grade class, and construction of an initial 120-square-meter building.

2014

45 children, opening of the second and third grades, and construction of a second 30-square-meter building.

2015

60 children, opening of the fourth-grade class, and a 100-square-meter expansion.

2016

60 children, opening of the fifth-grade class, construction of an administrative office, and development of recreational areas.

2017

80 children; opening of a new 60-square-meter classroom.

2018

100 students; opening of the middle school for 6th and 7th grades; leasing of an additional building in Verberie to accommodate more students.

2019

125 children; relocation of the entire facility to Compiègne (goal: to take over the entire Faisanderie site in September 2021, currently occupied by the EHEI); half of the students will be housed at the Faisanderie, and the other half in the building of the former Guynemer School; opening of the 4th grade. Transition of the 6th grade and first grade to a contract-based system.

2021

170 children from kindergarten through 9th grade. Impact of the health crisis: the plan to move to the Faisanderie site has been abandoned (LSME, the primary tenant, no longer has the funds needed to build its new facility and will remain at the Faisanderie). Open World must find a new location.

2022

160 children from preschool through 3rd grade. A recurring issue: the facilities! We are forced to limit enrollment. We urgently need to find long-term solutions.

2024New buildings

180 students. Inauguration of the new buildings in Lacroix-Saint-Ouen. In September 2024, Open World International School reached another milestone in its history. After seven months of construction—a record time to build a new 1,200-square-meter school from the ground up!—Open World is finally settled in for the long term.

Thank you to all the individuals, organizations, and companies who believed in us and helped us rise to this challenge.

2025Today

190 students, second school year in the new buildings — stabilization and investment in playground equipment and furniture.
