ENGLISH SPEAKING NURSERY AND RECEPTION

Starting in preschool, children are immersed in an entirely English-speaking environment. No English classes—just life in English. The language takes root naturally, like a mother tongue, through listening, play, daily routines, and everyday interactions. At this age, the brain is like a sponge: full immersion allows children to absorb the sounds, vocabulary, and structures of the language intuitively and permanently.

BILINGUAL YEAR 1 AND YEAR 2

In Years 1 & 2, bilingualism comes into its own. Instruction is organised on a half-day rotation—the morning in one language, the afternoon in the other. Each student is supported by two dedicated teachers, one French-speaking and the other a native English speaker. This continuity between the two languages, facilitated by two distinct adult role models, anchors bilingualism in daily life without ever mixing the two linguistic worlds.

MONTESSORI PEDAGOGY

We draw, among other things, on the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori, which is based on two core beliefs: children learn best by engaging all their senses, and they learn even better when they are active participants in their own discoveries. Montessori materials—concrete and hands-on—allow children to approach abstract concepts in a sensory and progressive way. They foster independence, concentration, and initiative. The teacher guides, observes, and suggests—but it is the child who acts, experiments, and understands.

READING USING SYLLABLES

Reading instruction begins in preschool, with instruction in both French and English using a rigorous and structured syllabic method. Volunteer readers support the teaching staff by working with each child individually several times a week, ensuring regular practice.
